Tearing Down Walls, Rebuilding Lives

The caring community is what sets Intersect Camp apart from other youth camps. Our qualified counselors from Word of Life Bible Institute are committed to helping campers step away from life’s hardships and encounter the hope of Jesus Christ. Students who come to camp with hurts, heartache, and unhealthy habits walk away with biblical truths to help them navigate their daily lives.

Life Change

We brought several foster teens, all of whom come from difficult backgrounds. It was wonderful to see them open up and thrive in a safe place free from judgement. One student decided to trust Jesus, leaving her past at the cross. Her brother’s heart was softened also, which was a huge step for him.

Spiritual Emphasis

Intersect Camp is dedicated to seeing each of the young people who set foot on the property make life-changing decisions for Christ. Our goal is to see all campers accept Jesus Christ as Savior, grow closer in their relationships with Him, and demonstrate a desire to share their faith with others. Every element at camp is designed to point in one of these directions. It is our desire to see every young person taking their next step with Jesus.

Friday Night:

The Gospel is presented introducing campers to Jesus and telling them of His death, burial, and resurrection. They are given an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Afterwards, they can come forward to have a conversation with someone about the decision they made and ask any questions they may have.

Saturday Morning:

This rally is specifically geared towards preparing for the dedication service. We believe that once someone gives themselves over to Christ, the next natural step is dedication. This rally give practical steps toward living out this dedication.

Saturday Night:

During this time, we give the campers an opportunity to dedicate their life to Christ and to be used by Him – placing all they are, all they have, and all they ever hope to be under His control. This is a very special time for the entire camp.

Sunday Morning:

This is our last rally with the camp and therefore becomes a sending service. It is focused on the question of how we can go home and live differently. Our prayer and heartbeat is for campers to go home and begin reaching friends and family for Christ.

Campers are given a Camper Journal to use during their time at camp – stressing the importance of a daily time with the Lord and taking notes when the word is preached.

All our meals are served buffet style, and we don’t want anyone to leave hungry! Campers can eat as much as they like, and they are always welcome to purchase candy or snacks at the Snack Shack between meals. Optional sandwiches and cereal are available at every meal, just in case our more (ahem) “particular” eaters need a backup.

We work to serve a well-balanced diet throughout the week. Meals are prepared under strict supervision, using the finest quality ingredients. If your camper has food allergies, email intersect@wol.org to receive an allergen guide.
