At Word of Life, our goal is to create an environment for the most cost effective, safe and spiritually uplifting camping experience that we can possibly provide.

In order to make this a reality, we need some standards that everyone on property can understand and submit themselves to during their time with us. We appreciate your understanding in these areas and hope that, together, we can make this camping season an unforgettable experience in the lives of everyone involved.

General

Code of Conduct Policy and Admissions Policy

  • No smoking, alcoholic beverages, illicit drugs, or knives/weapons are permitted on Word of Life property.
  • Attendance is required to all meetings at the Island and Ranch and highly encouraged at the Inn and Family Campground.
  • Only modest one-piece swimming apparel is permitted (1 Timothy 2:9).
  • Admissions and participation in all programs at Word of Life are open to all guests regardless of race, color or national origin.
  • Accommodations for married couples at all Word of Life facilities are reserved only for those couples with a God-ordained, God-defined Biblical marriage, which is one man and one woman as their gender was created by God at birth.
  • Word of Life believes that all campers are created in the image of God and they are expected to present themselves as God created them with the gender He assigned to them at birth.

Youth Camp Prohibited Items

  • No knives or weapons of any kind are allowed at Word of Life camps and facilities. Electronic musical devices (i.e. CD players, mp3 players, i-pods, etc.) and hand-held electronic games are also prohibited. Should any of these items be brought to camp, they will be confiscated and held in the Camp Office.
  • Word of Life Island, Ranch, and Ranger Camp reserve the right to hold cell phones in the Camp Office and permit use only at designated times. Should campers be permitted to keep their cell phones, they must be turned off during all meetings, activities, and after “in dorms.” In case of emergency, exceptions can be made by Counselors or Unit Leaders.

Pets

  • Word of Life Inn and Family Lodge – No animals are permitted in the main buildings or rooms, unless it is a service animal. Please make sure to let Customer Service know, when booking your reservation.
  • Family Campground – Although pets are not prohibited, we are asking that you do not bring your pet unless it is absolutely necessary. The following rules apply:
    • Only one dog per site and he/she must be leashed when outside.
    • No pets, regardless of size, are permitted at any of the main buildings, the cabins/cottages, meeting room, dining hall, picnic grove and office/bookstore.
    • We have learned that dogs that don’t bark at home, often begin barking at the Campground because of all of the activity. Dogs that bark will not be permitted to stay.
    • WOL Florida Conference Center/Suites/Villas – no animals permitted unless service animal.

  • At the discretion of the Camp Director, Word of Life Fellowship reserves the right to terminate accommodations without refund for persons who display disruptive/abusive conduct or do not observe Word of Life’s code of conduct.

  • Therefore, it is the policy of Word of Life Fellowship, to protect all children participating in its various ministries and activities from all forms of child abuse-physical and emotional, sexual abuse, sexual molestation, exposure to sexually explicit materials, etc.
  • It is also the policy of Word of Life Fellowship, to encourage everyone associated with Word of Life Fellowship, to avoid even the appearance of such named conduct in order to prevent any potential misunderstandings that may give rise to false accusations against a Child Care Provider, volunteer, or other paid staff who is providing services to our ministry, whether or not those services are directly related to working with children.
