Arrival and Departure

Check-in time for campers and adults is from 2-5 pm on arrival day and check-out time is from 8-9 am on departure day.

Is transportation available?

Round trip van shuttle service from Tampa International and St Pete Airport is available. Please call 727-379-5005 between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday and give us at least 48-hours advance notice to schedule a pick up. There is a charge of $25 per person per way. A Word of Life staff member will meet you at the appropriate location.

Camper Bank

Upon arrival, campers should put their money in the Camper Bank for safekeeping. Word of Life is not responsible for any money not deposited in the Bank. The amount of spending money you bring it up to you. Each camper is given a wristband with a bar code upon arrival. This wristband is used to access the camper bank account when making purchases at the bookstore, Harry’s Hut, or Snack Shack ,or for signing up for paintball, water tubing, or pizza. Any money left in the bank at the end of the camp week will be returned to the campers in the form of cash the last night of camp.

How do I call a camper?

Please limit calls to campers to emergencies only. The camp office can be reached between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. A message will be taken to your camper and they will return your call if necessary. Please limit calls after 10:00 PM to extreme emergencies only. Please call 727-379-5005 and we will direct your call.

What is the food like?

Food served is of the finest quality and is prepared under strict supervision. A well-balanced diet is planned for each day. Campers are served buffet style and are free to eat as much as they desire. Candy and snacks are available at the Snack Shack.

Is there a lost and found?

Lost and found articles are returned COD upon claim by parents, up to 30 days after the end of their camping week. Please call 727-379-5005 to inquire about articles left at camp.

Do activities cost money?

We keep our additional charges to a minimum and have, in fact, eliminated some over the last few years. There are a couple activities that are necessary to charge for, though, such as paintball and water-tubing.

Are cell phones, ipods, portable gaming devices, or other electronic devices allowed?

No. Please refrain from bringing any electronic devices.

Does a camper need to have their own security policy?

Word of Life Camps are a non-profit, charitable organization dependent on God and His people. Those who use Word of Life facilities and/or engage in related activities, waive and release and claim for personal injury or property damage. Attendees agree to carry insurance or have the resources to cover the expenses related to personal injury or property damage.

Cabin assignments and cabinmate requests

All cabin assignments will be made before arrival. Any special requests must be made ahead of time via your online account.

What are the cabins like?

Campers sleep on bunk beds in air-conditioned cabins with bathroom facilities inside each cabin. Each room houses about 12 campers along with 2 counselors and groups are automatically housed together as much as possible unless otherwise noted.
