If you’re looking for a chance to get away and reconnect, the Marriage Retreat at Word of Life Lodge is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. The Marriage Retreat is a great way to invest 44 hours into the future of your marriage.

Speaker: Ed and Amy Uszynski

Ed and Amy were married in 1999 and immediately acquired a heart for couples navigating the tensions of making a life together in a culture that no longer values marriage.

They began speaking at the Family Life Weekend to Remember Conference in 2004 and the Art of Marriage® Live weekends since their inception. God has intersected their lives with thousands of couples through marriage events, coaching, and retreats, and they love the challenge of communicating a biblically shaped view of marriage in a vulnerable, relevant way that connects with people at all stages of life.

Besides their ongoing gospel-centered ministry to couples, Ed is the Co-Director of Digital Strategies for Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of Cru, and oversees content creation for He speaks frequently to high school, college, and professional athletes, while also addressing men’s groups and churches around the country. He served as a Teaching Elder at their church for six years. He has an MA and MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a PhD in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University.

Amy graduated from Trinity International University before joining the campus staff of AIA. She currently serves on the National Women’s Leadership Team of AIA and is a part-time minister to athletes at Central State University.

Ed and Amy have four children and live in Xenia, OH.

Jeff Dueck

Jeff Dueck (Ph.D. in Philosophy) serves as Worship Arts Pastor at Grace Community Church, a multi-campus church in Orange County, NY. He is also Professor of Philosophy at Nyack College. Jeff, his wife Janine, and their three children keep busy with ministry, music, reading, soccer, and lots of adventures in the Hudson Valley.
